How Vegetables Power the Human Body
Click any vegetable to illuminate which organs it nourishes and see the science-backed health benefits it delivers.
One of Climate Diet's core missions is to improve and spread awareness about consumer health. What we put on our plates matters — plant-based eating isn't about perfection or restriction. It's about understanding the power of your daily choices and using food as a tool for health, sustainability, and compassion. Our resources are fact-based — because in the end, our health and our planet's health are deeply connected.
The more you know, the more empowered you become.
Plant-based eating helps me prevent heart disease so I can continue to do the things I love.
Diets high in red and processed meat are associated with increased risk of heart disease and stroke. The World Health Organization has classified processed meat as a Group 1 carcinogen (linked to cancer) and red meat as a probable carcinogen.
Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. — but it is largely preventable. Reducing red and processed meat while increasing fruits, vegetables, and legumes can lower cholesterol, improve blood pressure, and reduce inflammation.
Every plant-forward meal is an investment in your long-term health.
Removing meat and dairy from my diet greatly restored my physical health. I was able to give up several long-term medications.
Plant-based diets are associated with lower BMI and reduced risk of obesity. Diets rich in fiber from whole plant foods support gut health, immune function, and metabolic balance — as well as improving skin health, digestion, and overall vitality.
Food is one of the most powerful forms of preventive medicine available — and we access it multiple times a day. When meals center on whole, plant-based ingredients, the body receives more fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and phytonutrients that support healing and resilience.
Many people who reduce meat and dairy report improvements in digestion, clearer skin, more stable energy, and in some cases, reduced dependence on long-term medications under medical supervision.
Switching to a plant-based diet was good for me, the planet, and the animals I love most.
Animal agriculture often relies on intensive confinement systems and is responsible for a vast majority of toxic greenhouse gas emissions. Agricultural farm workers frequently face unsafe working conditions and experience the first-hand impacts of climate change.
Plant-forward food systems reduce demand for factory farming practices and support more humane, sustainable models — protecting the dignity of animals, workers, and communities simultaneously.

A Sustainable Earth Eating Program With Climate Diet
At Climate Diet, we spotlight animal agriculture as a major yet often overlooked driver of climate change. It is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions and a leading cause of deforestation, water pollution, biodiversity loss, and soil degradation. While transitioning to clean energy is essential, changing what we eat is just as important. By choosing more plant-based meals, we can significantly reduce our environmental impact and help address both climate change and global food insecurity. Be part of the solution—sign the Meat Down Pledge and support our mission by donating to our non-profit organization.
